Indicators

In special education, there are three performance indicators required by the Federal Government. Performance Indicators are measurable values that demonstrate how effectively Virginia programs are implementing special education. Three of these indicators pertain specifically to early childhood:

-Indicator 6: Preschool Least Restrictive Environment

-Indicator 7: Preschool Outcomes

-Indicator 12: Transition from Part C to Part B

For more information about these three indicators and resources, go to Special Education Data Collection.

For additional resources and information to improve the collection, reporting and use of ECSE indicator data, go to the LEADS (Leadership in Effective and Developmentally-appropriate Services in ECSE) website.
