Service of Process During COVID-19

The offices of the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Board of Education are closed as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We appreciate your patience during this time.

Service of process of subpoenas and other court documents on the Department, the Board, the Superintendent of Public Instruction and individual VDOE employees or Board members will be accepted each Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the James Monroe Building, 25th Floor, 101 N. 14th Street, Richmond, VA 23219.

Upon arrival, process servers must notify the onsite security guard of the purpose of their visit. Documents must be presented to Rebecca Askew or other staff in the Office of Policy.
