Timeline for the Development and Review of the Science Standards of Learning

The Proposed Timeline Development and Review of the Science Standards of Learning was presented to the Board of Education on February 2, 2023.  Highlights of the timeline are indicated below.  The detailed original timeline and support PowerPoint can be found on the Board of Education Agenda (Item H).

The Science Standards of Learning implementation timeline is currently under VDOE leadership review.  An updated timeline will be announced publicly once details are determined.

Public Comment on the 2018 Science Standards of Learning

As part of the review of the 2018 Science Standards of Learning, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is seeking input from stakeholders. Please provide comments, suggestions, and feedback to increase concept clarity and inform updates to the structure of the standards by submitting the Comments on the 2018 Science Standards of Learning or by emailing comments directly to vdoe.science@doe.virginia.gov. Comments must be received by May 31, 2024.
