2021 Virginia Teacher of the Year
Anthony Swann, a fifth-grade teacher at Rocky Mount Elementary in Franklin County, was named the 2021 Virginia Teacher of the Year during a virtual recognition ceremony livestreamed on social media. Swann was selected from the eight regional winners announced previously and was named the Commonwealth's nominee for the 2021 National Teacher of the Year.
