2020 Teacher of the Year
2020 Virginia Teacher of the Year
Andrea Carson Johnson was named the 2020 Virginia Teacher of the Year. Carson is a 12-year veteran and teaches 12th grade English at Salem High School in Salem, Virginia. Carson was selected from the eight regional winners announced previously and was named the Commonwealth's nominee for the 2020 National Teacher of the Year.
