About the Adult Education and Literacy Advisory Committee

The Adult Education and Literacy Advisory Committee was established in 2001 to make recommendations for the delivery of quality adult education and literacy programs and services throughout the commonwealth. The committee is composed of representatives from business and industry, educational institutions, and community-based organizations.

The committee meets twice a year and reports periodically to the State Board of Education. Committee meetings are typically held in October and March. Members begin their term in July of the appointment year and end in June of the third year.
